Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to make the app work and save your progress across devices:

• Account information: your email address and the display name you choose when you create an account.
• Food log data: the foods you scan or search, along with their sodium and potassium values, serving sizes, and the meal and date you logged them.
• Water intake data: the amounts of water you log and your personalized daily hydration goal.
• Profile data you provide: if you complete the hydration questionnaire, your age, weight, and activity level are used to calculate your goal.
• Usage data: basic information needed to maintain your streak, such as which days you logged food or water.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect precise location data.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or files.
• We do not collect payment information — DePuffr is free to use.
• Camera access is used only to scan barcodes in real time. Camera images are processed on your device and are never stored or transmitted.

How we use your information

Your information is used solely to:

• Provide the core features of the app — tracking your potassium-to-sodium ratio and water intake.
• Save your data so it syncs across your devices when you sign in.
• Calculate your personalized hydration goal and maintain your logging streak.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

How your data is stored

Your account and log data are stored securely using Supabase, our backend and database provider. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Food and nutrition data is retrieved from the Open Food Facts public database, an open, collaborative food products database.

Third-party services

DePuffr relies on the following services to function:

• Supabase — authentication and data storage. See Supabase's privacy policy.
• Open Food Facts — nutrition data for scanned and searched foods. See Open Food Facts' privacy policy.

Your rights and choices

You have control over your data:

• Access: all of your logged data is visible to you within the app at any time.
• Deletion: you can delete individual log entries, clear a day's log, or delete your entire account and all associated data from within the app's profile settings. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
• Correction: you can edit or re-log any entry at any time.

To request deletion of your account and all data, use the "Delete account" option in the app, or email us at the address below and we will process your request.

Children's privacy

DePuffr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Health disclaimer

DePuffr is a wellness and tracking tool, not a medical device or a substitute for professional medical advice. The information provided in the app is for general informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider regarding your diet, hydration, or any health concerns.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
